Verulam House Care Home, in the heart of the cathedral city of St Albans, Hertfordshire, is an oasis of calm in a busy and vibrant city.
The home provides residential, respite, palliative and nursing care in St Albans as well as physical disability and sensory impairment support.
An early 19th century Grade II listed building, Verulam House was previously the Bishop’s Palace, a school, a conference centre and even a maternity hospital during the Second World War. Beautifully converted to a care home nearly 20 years ago, both the house and grounds are steeped in history yet remain modern and accessible.

🌟 Out and About in the Community 🌟
Not everyone enjoys sticking to a set activity schedule, so sometimes a 1-to-1 trip is the perfect way to stay active and connected. 💙
Today, Nat went out with Una for a walk and enjoyed some fresh air, exercise, and good company. 😊

🙏✨ We are always grateful for the wonderful support from the Vicar and Pastoral Team from St Albans Cathedral who visit us each week.
On Tuesdays, residents come together for hymns, prayers, and Holy Communion, followed by Bible Study on Wednesdays. These special gatherings provide comfort, companionship, spiritual support, and an opportunity for residents to share their faith and reflections with one another.
These sessions are an important part of life at Verulam House, bringing our community together and creating meaningful moments of connection, friendship, and worship.
Thank you to the team from St Albans Cathedral for your continued care, kindness, and dedication to our residents. ❤️
