Verulam House Care Home, in the heart of the cathedral city of St Albans, Hertfordshire, is an oasis of calm in a busy and vibrant city.
The home provides residential, respite, palliative and nursing care in St Albans as well as physical disability and sensory impairment support.
An early 19th century Grade II listed building, Verulam House was previously the Bishopβs Palace, a school, a conference centre and even a maternity hospital during the Second World War. Beautifully converted to a care home nearly 20 years ago, both the house and grounds are steeped in history yet remain modern and accessible.

βοΈπ§ Keeping Our Residents Safe and Hydrated During the Hot Weather π§βοΈ
With the warmer temperatures upon us, promoting good hydration is more important than ever.
This week, our Activities Coordinator Lynn will be visiting all residents twice daily, offering a selection of refreshing ice lollies and iced drinks to help everyone stay cool and comfortable.
We have also introduced a new Hydration Station, where residents, relatives and visitors can help themselves to a refreshing drink throughout the day.
At Verulam House, the health, comfort and wellbeing of our residents remain our highest priority, and we are taking every opportunity to ensure everyone stays hydrated and enjoys the sunshine safely.
